As of 28th June 2024, the total area sown under groundnuts has decreased significantly to 8.187 lakh hectares from 14.55 lakh hectares in 2023, reflecting a reduction of 6.363 lakh hectares or 44%.The decline in acreage can be attributed to delay in rainfall especially in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
