As per IMD, conditions are favourable for advancement of monsoon over the South Andaman Sea and is expected to arrive slightly early by 3 days over adjoining areas by 19th May, 2024 in compare to its normal date of 22nd May. Notably, in its early prediction, the agency had predicted that monsoon is likely to remain above normal at 106% of the long period average with a modal error of + / - 5%.
