As per IMD latest update, ocean temperatures in the central and equatorial Pacific Ocean were cooling, and neutral El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) conditions are expected to develop soon. Notably, ENSO is a naturally occurring climate phenomenon arising from ocean-atmosphere interactions. It affects sea surface temperatures in the central and eastern tropical Pacific Ocean. Currently, the southwest monsoon is progressing normally, and conditions are suitable for its onset on the Kerala coast in the next five days.
