As per the latest report, Guatemala Cardamom production areas likely to be down by 57.47% from previous year. In 2023-24 it is expected to be around 218,304 hectares as compared to 513,319 hectares in 2022-23.

The current year is expected to see a significant 40% reduction in Guatemala's cardamom production due to hot weather conditions that is likely to support the prices.

Cardamom crop in Guatemala is very bad. Standing crops are facing a real shortage of water. Because of the dry weather, the plant produces fewer spikes and the spikes will be shorter in length which means there will be fewer pods.

Markets become to increase and according to the reports the production shortage is estimated to be around 50% and this crop could be less than 28,000 Metric tonnes.
