Turmeric sowing has started in the Maharashtra and Karnataka regions, particularly in Sangli and Belgaum. Currently, around 80% to 85% of sowing is complete due to favorable rainfall. Sowing is expected to be finished by mid-June in these areas. AgriWatch expects the sowing area to go up due to current higher prices.

Turmeric farmers are currently retaining their produce, expecting a rise in prices in the near future.
