Between December and February, Vietnam, ranked as the world's third-largest rice exporter, imported a minimum of 200,000 MT of husked brown rice from India. The surge in exports has depleted Vietnam's rice stockpiles, yet the country remains eager to fulfill the increasing global demand. Due to the unavailability of rice paddy for milling within Vietnam, certain traders opted to import husked rice from India. They subsequently earned significant profits by processing and exporting the grain.
