Turmeric Arrivals Drop Significantly, Farmers Hold Stock Amid Price Expectations

Arrivals in the turmeric spot markets have seen a notable decline this week. In Nizamabad, only 9,500 bags of new arrivals were reported, marking a 50% decrease compared to the previous week. Similarly, Erode witnessed a substantial 62.4% reduction in arrivals.

Turmeric farmers are currently retaining their produce, expecting a rise in prices in the near future.

However, this trend has posed challenges for FMCG companies, as they struggle to procure sufficient quantities of turmeric due to the reduced arrivals.
