As per trade sources, groundnut exports from October 2023 to April 2024 saw a decrease of 10.1%, with a total of 4.91 lakh tonnes shipped compared to 5.46 lakh tonnes in the preceding year. Moreover, April 2024 witnessed a 10% decline in groundnut exports, amounting to 0.65 lakh tonnes as opposed to 0.72 lakh tonnes in April of the previous year. Indonesia accounted for 39% of the imports, followed by Vietnam at 18%. The subdued export demand is constraining price increase in the local market.
