Rice exporters have urged govt. for lifting the ban on the export of white rice and broken rice, and have requested adjustments to the duty structure of parboiled rice. This demand comes as the Food Corporation of India's (FCI) rice stocks have increased to three-and-a-half times the required buffer stock.
