Wheat planting in Argentina for the current harvesting season has made significant progress over the past week, driven by recent rainfall in key farming areas, according to the Buenos Aires Grains Exchange's weekly report released on Thursday. The report highlights that the 2024/25 wheat crop benefits from generally adequate soil moisture, with the total planted area expected to reach 6.3 million hectares. So far, 81% of this projected area has been sown, showing an increase of 15.5 percentage points over the past week. Additionally, nearly 75% of the planted wheat area possesses "sufficient-optimal" moisture levels, meeting the crop's low water requirements during its early growth stages.
