With India extending its export duty on parboiled rice, the situation is improving for Thai steam rice exporters. TREA estimates total rice exports in March at 800,000 MT, with steam rice accounting for a larger portion compared to the previous month. Currently, Thai steam rice is sold at an average of US$606 per MT, while its Indian counterpart is priced at around $545-550 per MT.
