On Wednesday, India approved limited imports of crude sunflower oil, and refined rapeseed oil, under the tariff-rate quota (TRQ) system, which allows importers to pay no or reduced duties. This measure aims to curb food inflation in the country. As the world's largest importer of vegetable oils like palm oil, soy oil, and sunflower oil, India has permitted the import of 150,000 metric tons of sunflower oil, and 150,000 tons of refined rapeseed oil, according to the government.
