India has opted against allowing its local rice exporters to bid on tenders issued by the United Nations World Food Program (WFP). This measure, designed to protect domestic food security and mitigate inflation, has raised apprehensions regarding global food security. The decision was prompted by recent WFP tenders seeking broken rice supplies for countries like Spain, Cameroon, Togo, and Algeria.
