According to market sources, the Government of India may extend the Bharat Atta scheme, which concluded on June 30, 2024. Under the new scheme, MRP has been adjusted to Rs. 30 per kilogram for Bharat Atta, while the effective issue price for wheat will be Rs. 20.65 per kilogram, including a Rs. 2.35 per kilogram subsidy. The quantity to be distributed has not yet been specified, but approximately 1.47 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had been lifted by May 15th, 2024, under the previous scheme. This extension is expected to help control rising prices.
