European Commission decline production estimate for soft wheat amid unfavorable weather

The European Commission has adjusted its forecast for the 2024-25 common wheat production, reducing it by 0.6 million metric tons to 120.2 million metric tons from the previous estimate of 125.6 million metric tons. Alongside this revision, adjustments were made to the carry-in number and import figures, with imports now expected to increase by 0.2 million metric tons to 4.5 million metric tons from the previous estimate of 8.0 million metric tons. Consequently, the carry-out figure has risen slightly by 0.1 million metric tons to 12.2 million metric tons from the previous estimate of 20.4 million metric tons.
