The Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) has released a monthly sales quota of 27 LT for May 2024 compared to 25 LT in the previous month and 3 LT higher compared to the same period last year. With the closure of crushing operations by the sugar mills and more than expected summer demand are expected to keep the prices steady to firm in May month even though the allocated sales quota is higher.
