To control and put a cap on rise in Chana prices, Govt. has exempted ‘desi chana’ (Bengal gram) from import duty. India gets Bengal gram from countries like Australia and Tanzania. Notably, a significant hike in Chana prices has seen during recent past taking cue of lower domestic production.
