The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved Minimum Support Price (MSP) hike for all mandated Kharif crops for Marketing Season 2024-25. MSP for Tur has been hiked by INR 550 to INR 7,550 per quintal from Rs 7,000 per quintal, for Urad by INR 450 to INR 7,400 per quintal from INR 6,950, for Moong by INR 124 to INR 8682 from INR 8,558 per quintal. With robust hike in MSP specially for Tur & Urad, sowing coverage for major Kharif Pulses is likely to increase this year to a record. As per AgriWatch preliminary estimates, Tur coverage is expected to inch up to 52.4 lakh ha., Urad at 40.2 lakh ha. & Moong at 34 lakh ha.
